CBSE Class 9 English Deleted Syllabus: Students must be aware that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) took the decision to delete some topics/chapters from the syllabus for students of classes 9-12 post the pandemic. The aim behind this step was to reduce the load of curriculum on the students. With regard to examinations, it is essential that students know the deleted topics/chapters. In this article we have covered the deleted syllabus of CBSE Class 9 English. Students can check the topics or chapters that have been removed.
Students must prepare for the examination in accordance with the latest syllabus only. Otherwise they may end up wasting their time on topics that are not even a part of the syllabus. After CBSE, the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) also made revisions in its textbooks.

This was done as the reduction in content and increased flexibility of school curriculum and the renewed emphasis on constructive rather than rote learning - must be accompanied by parallel changes in school textbooks.
The contents of the textbooks had been rationalised in view of the following:
1.Content based on genres of literature in the textbooks and supplementary readers at different stages of school education.
2.Content that is meant for achieving Learning Outcomes for developing language proficiency and is accessible at different stages.
3.For reducing the curriculum load and examination stress in view of the prevailing condition of the Pandemic.
4.Content, which is easily accessible to students without much interventions from teachers and can be learned by children through self-learning or peer-learning.
5.Content, which is irrelevant in the present context. The present edition, is a reformatted version after carrying out the changes given above.
