HP TET Eligibility 2024: The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has defined the HP TET Eligibility Criteria 2024 in the official notification. These criteria encompass three main aspects: educational qualifications, nationality, and age limit.

Candidates need to verify that they fulfill these eligibility criteria before applying, as their candidature will be cancelled if found ineligible at any stage, even after passing the exam. HP TET Eligibility 2024

The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) administers the Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (HP TET) to assess candidates' eligibility for teaching positions in schools across Himachal Pradesh. It covers various teaching subjects/categories, including TGT (Arts), TGT (Non-Medical), TGT (Medical), JBT, Shastri, Language Teacher, Punjabi, and Urdu. While there is no upper age limit for appearing in the exam, candidates are required to possess a bachelor's degree and a teacher training qualification with a minimum percentage.

HP TET Age Limit 2024

As per official notification, there shall be no upper age limit to apply for the HP TET exam. The officials will consider the age criteria at the time of appointment as per R&P Rules.

HP TET Eligibility Criteria 2024: Nationality

Candidate must be a citizen of India when applying for the HP TET Exam. Those who belong to Himachal Pradesh must submit a domicile certificate to avail of reservation/relaxation benefits.

HP TET Qualification

The HP TET educational qualification varies as per the teaching subjects opted by the candidates. It is crucial to hold certain educational qualifications prescribed in the notification in order to be allowed to appear in the exam. Remember, there shall be a relaxation of up to 5% in minimum educational qualification for the candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC/PHH categories of Himachal Pradesh. HP TET Eligibility Criteria 2024 for TGT(Arts)

Candidates applying for TGT(Arts) post must possess either of the following qualifications:

  • A candidate must hold a B.A./B. Com/ Post Graduate degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks either in Graduation or in Post-Graduation, along with a 1-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.).

          OR

  • B.A./B. Com/ Post Graduate degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks either in Graduation or in Post-Graduation, along with a 2-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.).

          OR

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).

          OR

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 4-year B.A.Ed.

          OR

  • B.A./B.Com. with a minimum of 50% marks and a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) (Special Education).

          OR

  • B.A./B. Com/ Post Graduate degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks in either Graduation or Post-Graduation (or its equivalent) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a recognized institution.

          OR

  • A 4-year degree of B.A/B.Com. Ed. from any National Council for Teacher Education recognized institution.

          OR

  •  Master's with at least 55% marks or equivalent along with a three-year integrated B.Ed.M.Ed.

HP TET Eligibility 2024 Non-Medical

Here are the HP TET eligibility criteria for the TGT (Non-Medical) subject given below.

  • B.Sc.(NM)/Post Graduate from a recognized university with 50% marks or above either in Graduation or in Post-Graduation and 1-year Bachelor of Education(B.Ed.)

          OR

  • B.Sc.(NM)/ Post Graduate from recognized university with 50% marks or above either in Graduation or in Post-Graduation and 2-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)

           OR

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with 50% marks or above and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)

         OR

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with 50% marks or above and 4 years B.Sc.(NM)Ed.

           OR

  • B.Sc (NM) with minimum 50% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education(B.Ed.) (Special Education).

          OR

  • B.Sc.(NM)/ Post Graduation from a recognized university with 50% marks in either Graduation or Post Graduation (its equivalent) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a recognized institution.

           OR

  • 4-years degree of B.Sc.(NM)Ed. From any National Council for Teacher Education recognized institution.OR
  • Secured 55% marks in post-graduation and completed three-year integrated B.Ed. M.Ed.

HP TET Eligibility Criteria 2024 Medical

Candidates who aspire to become Medical teachers must fulfil the following criteria:

  • B.Sc.(Medical)/Post-graduate from a recognized university with minimum 50% marks either in Graduation or in Post-graduation and 1-year Bachelor in Education(B.Ed.)

            OR

  • B.Sc.(Medical)/Post-graduate from a recognized university with a minimum 50% marks either in Graduation or in Post-graduation and 2-year Bachelor of Education(B.Ed.)

             OR

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with minimum  50% marks and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)

            OR

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with minimum 50% marks and 4 years B.Sc.(Medical) Ed.

             OR

  • B.Sc. (Medical) with minimum 50% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) (Special Education)

            OR

  • B.Sc.(Medical)/ Post Graduate from a recognized university with a minimum 50% marks in either Graduation or Post Graduation (or its equivalent) and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a recognized institution.

            OR

  • 4-years degree of B.Sc. (Medical) Ed. From any National Council for Teacher Education recognized institution.

            Or

  • Post-graduation with at least 55% marks and three-year integrated B.Ed.M.Ed.

HP TET 2024 Eligibility for Shastri

Here are the HP TET eligibility criteria for the TET Shastri subject given below.

  • Shastri/Graduation with Sanskrit/Post Graduation in Sanskrit from a recognised University with a minimum of 50% marks either in Shastri or in Graduation or in Post-Graduation and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a National Council for Teacher Education recognized institution.

              OR

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with minimum 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) with Sanskrit.

             OR

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with minimum 50% marks and 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed. with Sanskrit or B.A.Ed./B.Sc.Ed with Sanskrit.

            OR

  • Graduation with Sanskrit with minimum 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)

           OR

  • Post-graduation in Sanskrit with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade and 3-year integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed

           OR

  • 4-year degree of B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed. with Sanskrit from any NCTE recognized institution.

HP TET JBT Eligibility Criteria 2024

To be eligible for the Junior Basic Training (JBT), candidates must possess:

  • 10+2 with 50% or Senior Secondary with 50% marks from a recognized Board of Education and 2 years JBT/D.El.Ed from an institute affiliated with the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE).

            OR

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with 50% marks and 2-years JBT/D.El.Ed.

             OR

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with 45% marks and 2-years JBT/D.El.Ed in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002.

            OR

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with 50% marks and 4-years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

            OR

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (Special).

           OR

  • Graduation and 2 years JBT/D.El.Ed.

HP TET Eligibility Criteria 2024: Language Teacher

Here are the HP TET eligibility criteria for the Language Teacher subject given below.

  • B.A. with Hindi as an elective subject and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education

            OR

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) with a minimum of 50% marks, having Hindi as an elective subject, and completion of a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) program.

            OR

  • BA with 45% marks with Hindi as an elective subject and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with the NCTE(Recognition Norms & Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.

            OR

  • BA with 50% marks with Hindi as an elective subject and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) Special Education

             OR

  • Prabhakar (Honours in Hindi) with 50% marks followed by B.A. Examination (English and one additional subject) with 50% marks from a recognized University and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.)

            OR

  • M.A. (Hindi) with 50% marks from a recognized University and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.)

HP TET 2024 Eligibility for Punjabi Language Teacher

Here are the HP TET eligibility criteria for the Punjabi Language Teacher subject given below.

  • B.A. with Punjabi as an elective subject and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education

           OR

  • BA with 50% marks with Punjabi as an elective subject and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.)

            OR

  • BA degree with a minimum of 45% marks, having Punjabi as an elective subject, and completion of a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) program, following the guidelines set forth by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) in its Recognition Norms & Procedure Regulations.

            OR

  • BA with 50% marks with Punjabi as an elective subject and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) Special Education

            OR

  • Giani with 50% marks followed by B.A. Examination (English and one additional subject) with 50% marks from a recognized University and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.)

           OR

  • M.A. (Punjabi) with 50% marks from a recognized University and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.)

HP TET Eligibility Criteria 2024 for Urdu Language Teacher

According to the official notification, the eligibility criteria for Urdu Language Teacher are as follows:

  • BA degree with Urdu as an elective subject with a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or, a B.A. degree with a minimum of 50% marks, with Urdu as an elective subject, along with completion of a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) program.

             OR

  • BA with 45% marks with Urdu as an elective subject and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms &Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard.

              OR

  • BA with 50% marks with Urdu as an elective subject and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) Special Education.

              OR

  • B.T. with 50% marks followed by B.A. Examination (English & one additional subject with 50% marks from a recognized University and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.)

            OR

  • M.A. (Urdu) with 50% marks from a recognized University and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.).

HP TET Eligibility Certificate

Candidates who are declared successful in the Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test will be awarded the HP TET eligibility certificate. The validity period of the HP TET qualifying certificate for appointment will be for a lifetime for all categories. There shall be no restriction on the number of attempts a candidate can take to acquire a TET certificate. A person who has passed the TET exam may also participate again to improve their score.
