NCC 11 UK Girls Battalion hosted its Combined Annual Training Camp at Sardar Bhagwan Singh University (SBSU), Balawala, Dehradun, from June 24 to July 3, marking a significant gathering of 581 cadets. This diverse group included 460 junior wing cadets and 121 senior wing cadets.
The camp was designed to emphasize Regimental training for the cadets with the aim to instill leadership qualities, perseverance and discipline among the cadets.
The camp session conducted early morning PT parades, drill training, practical classes on Weapon training, Map reading, theory classes on leadership, women empowerment, first aid, health and hygiene to name a few.
To train all the cadets one step further, NCC 11UK girls Bn installed their firing simulator setup in SBSU campus on which each cadet got the chance to hold a weapon and fire.
A major highlight of the camp was a detailed seminar on disaster management, featuring practical demonstrations led by Mr. Anil Verma, Chairman of the Red Cross Society. Additionally, the Uttarakhand Police also conducted an informative session on cyber crime security.
Beyond military training, the camp also fosters cultural and holistic development through various activities such as group singing and group dancing. The SBSU cadets grabbed the trophy for Group song competition.
SBSU also organised a Quiz competition and Career counseling session for the cadets led by Associate Professor Dr Nidhi S Belwal and team. The winners of the Quiz competition were given Cash prizes by SBS University.
To promote sportsmanship, games are an integral part of the NCC training. The trophy for volleyball competition was grabbed by SW cadets of NSM and trophy for kho kho was grabbed by JW cadets of JNV.
A blood donation drive was also organised in the camp by 11UK girls BN and Red cross society which gathered many cadets and officials for the donation.
This 10 day camp showcased commitment of NCC 11 UK Girls Battalion to deliver comprehensive training development, with the a aim to prepare all the cadets to emerge as responsible citizen and capable leaders.
