From July 26 to August 11, the Paris 2024 Olympic Games left a tally of 117 Indian athletes competing for glory and medals. India's success in the event was assured with six medals: four silver but also five bronze. Not in India's favour on paper Manu Bhaker, however, wrote her accounts here at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games by placing third in the women's 10m pistol shooting event - not only The first woman to win an adapted event but she also made herself once again a trailblazer for Indian women all around the world. In another unprecedented feat, she became the first Indian to claim two medals at an Olympic stadium when Sarabjot Singh handed her bronze in a mixed team 10m air pistol competition.

Swapnil Kusale won India's third shooting medal, marking the country's best-ever performance in the sport at a single Olympics. The Indian men's hockey team repeated their Tokyo 2020 achievement by clinching bronze in Paris, while Neeraj Chopra became India's most successful individual Olympian with a silver medal in the javelin throw. Here is the complete list:

Indian athletes competed in 69 medal events across 16 sports at the Paris 2024 Olympics, including archery, athletics, badminton, boxing, equestrian, golf, hockey, judo, rowing, sailing, shooting, swimming, table tennis, and tennis.

Notable returning Olympic medalists in the Indian contingent included Neeraj Chopra, badminton star PV Sindhu, weightlifter Mirabai Chanu, boxer Lovlina Borgohain, and select members of the Harmanpreet Singh-led men's hockey team. Overall, India has won 41 Olympic medals to date, with the nation's first medals coming from Norman Pritchard's two silvers at the Paris 1900 Olympics.

The country narrowly missed out on six potential medals, with athletes being forced to settle for "other" positions.
