SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2024: SSC CGL 2024 exam will be held from 9th to 26th September 2024 to select 17,244 eligible candidates for various Group B and C posts. These posts include Assistant Audit Officer, Assistant Accounts Officer, Inspector (Examiner), Sub Inspector, Assistant Section Officer, and more. SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2024

According to the SSC CGL Notification, the exam is divided into two stages: Tier 1 and Tier 2. Tier 1 will be held from 9 to 26 February 2024. Candidates must clear each stage with a minimum SSC CGL cut off to qualify for the next stage. SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Pattern 2024

The first stage of the SSC CGL 2024 exam is the Tier 1 exam, which candidates must qualify to be shortlisted for the Tier 2 exam.

  • The exam consists of four sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension.
  • A total of 100 Objective type questions will be asked in the exam.
  • Candidates will have one hour to attempt all the questions.
  • It is a qualifying nature and marks will not be counted while preparing the final result.

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern 2024 Revised

SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam 2024 will be conducted into two phases: Paper 1 and 2, which are further categorized into different modules. Paper 1 is compulsory for all posts and candidates will have 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete it. This paper covers general subjects relevant to the SSC CGL exam and is designed to assess a broad range of skills. 

Paper 2 is specific to candidates applying for Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Statistical Investigator Grade II positions, and they will have 2 hours to complete this paper.

What is SSC CGL Marking Scheme 2024?

The marking scheme differs between the SSC CGL Tier 1 and Tier 2 exams. In SSC CGL Tier 1, candidates receive 2 marks for each correct answer, with a penalty of 0.5 marks for each wrong answer. In SSC CGL Tier 2, candidates earn 3 marks for each correct answer, while 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer.

SSC CGL Negative Marking

In SSC CGL Tier 1, there is a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each incorrect answer. In SSC CGL Tier 2, the negative marking varies: 1 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer in Section-I, Section-II, and Module-I of Section-III of Paper-I, while 0.50 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer in Paper-II.

Points to Note for SSC CGL Exam Pattern

  •  Objective type questions will be asked in SSC CGL Tier 1 and 2 exams.
  • In tier 1, 2 marks will be given for every correct answer. There is a negative marking of 0.5 marks.
  • In Tier 2, candidates will get 3 marks for every correct answers. There will be a negative marking of 1 mark.
