SSC MTS 2024 Overview

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) releases the SSC Multi Tasking Staff notification annually to select suitable candidates in General Central Service Group-C non-gazetted, non-ministerial posts in various ministries, departments and offices of the Govt of India. The candidates who are selected to be appointed through the SSC MTS exam are given a salary in the pay level-1 as per Pay Matrix of 7th Pay Commission with basic pay of Rs. 5,200-20,200 + Grade Pay Rs.1,800. Candidates fulfilling the SSC MTS eligibility may apply for the exam online on the SSC website.

What is SSC MTS 2024 Exam Date?

SSC MTS 2024 notification shall be released on 7th May for the post of Multi Tasking Staff (MTS). The selection of candidates is done through a written exam. A PET/ PST is also held but only for the post of Havaldar. Candidates who qualify the exam shall be appointed to the following posts:

SSC MTS 2024 Notification

SSC MTS 2024 notification can be downloaded online once it has been released by the Commission on its website. The selection of candidates for SSC MTS exam is done through a computer based exam only. However, the candidates who apply for the post of Havaldar will have to appear for PST and PET.

SSC MTS 2024 Exam Pattern

SSC MTS exam consists of three stages that have been mentioned below here.

SSC MTS Paper 1: The first stage of SSC MTS exam is the written test that is objective in nature. A total of 100 questions will be asked from 4 sections, which are, Reasoning, General Awareness, English, and Numerical Aptitude (Mathematics). Each question shall be of 1 mark. A negative marking of 0.25 shall be done for an incorrect answer by you.
PET/PST for Havaldar: Candidates who apply for the post of Havaldar in CBIC and CBN will be called for the Physical Efficiency Test/Physical Standard Test (PET/PST) after qualifying for the Tier 1 exam.
SSC MTS Paper 2: The last stage of SSC MTS exam is the descriptive paper which is known as SSC MTS paper 2. Candidates have to score qualifying marks in this paper to be appointed as SSC MTS.

How to fill SSC MTS 2024 Application Form?

Candidates who are eligible and interested to apply for the SSC MTS exam must ensure that they have filled out the application form for it. To make it convenient for you we have provided the following steps to fill the SSC MTS online form.

What is SSC MTS Age Limit?

The age limit of the candidates for SSC MTS has been divided into two categories as mentioned below. Candidates who apply for the post of SSC MTS must be between 18 years to 25 years. However, the candidates who apply for the post of Havaldar in CBIC (Department of Revenue) and CBN (Department of Revenue) and a few posts of MTS can have an upper age limit of 27 years.

The commission has divided the SSC MTS age limit into two groups and a separate number of vacancies are announced for both groups. Two age groups for SSC MTS and Havaldar are as follows:

SSC MTS Answer Key 2024: Tier 1 Answer Key

SSC declares the SSC MTS answer key for tier 1 in a few days after the completion of the written exam. Candidates will be able to challenge the answer key in case they find an answer key to be incorrectly marked by the commission. We shall update the official SSC MTS answer key once it is available on the SSC website.

SSC releases the answer key in two stages, first the provisional answer key and later, the final answer key. The final answer key is released after the Commission has verified the objections raised by the candidates. The answer key is highly useful to know the correct answer key for all the questions as well as challenge them.
