Internet has spread in almost all parts of the world, and the demand for a strong internet connection is there in every region of the world. Here are some things to understand before diving in. Wi-Fi speeds aren't equal across every US state. There are many states that have a strong access to gigabit fiber speeds and 5G connections that are affordable.

Every year, the internet speeds across the country gets faster As per some speed tests, the averafe nationwide internet speed in 2023 was actually 44% faster, in comparison to the year 2022. In 2022, the average internet speed across the country was 119.03Mbps.

The internet speed along the Eastern Seaboard have higher internet speeds. Seven out of the top 10 states with the highest internet speeds are situated in New York Tri-State and the New England region.

Connecticut had the fastest internet speed in the country. It held about 194Mbps and median speeds of about 119.13Mbps. It had the median speed of 119.13Mbps. New Jersey held a fast average download speed but a slow median speed. The third one in the list was Florida, with an average speed of 185.24Mbps. The average median speed in Florida was 115.58Mbps.

What makes these states have such fast internet connection?

Well, it is important to note that Connecticut, Florida, and New Jersey are some of the most populated states in the country. This thus enhances the chances for getting supreme quality internet services.

Internet providers prioritize regions having a lot of customers. This helps them offer competititive deals and justify their cost of expanding network access.

US States with improved internet speeds

Vermont holds some of the slowest internet speeds in the country. The Green Mountain State also witnessed a huge improvement in the internet speeds over the last few years. The median download speeds of the state increased by about 68 percent since the last year. The speed enhanced to 60.81Mbps from 36.03Mbps.

The state is seeing a speedy growth. This is because of the strategies used by state lawmakers in the year 2015 to set "communications union districts" that can offer high-speed internet service in the local regions.
