The MCC NEET Counselling 2024 will start on August 14, 2024, with the registration process for Round 1. Candidates who wish to change their nationality from Indian to NRI must send an email to MCC with the completed form and required documents between August 7, 2024, and August 10, 2024, by 10 AM.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) announced the NEET Counselling 2024 schedule on July 29, 2024. The NEET UG Counselling 2024, conducted by MCC, will be held for admission to MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing courses under the 15 percent All India Quota (AIQ) seats.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the revised NEET UG result on its official website on 26th July 2024. The final answer key has been published on 26th July for the exam held on 5th May 2024. This time, as per the revised result a total of 17 candidates have secured rank 1. Prior to this, the NTA published the centre and city-wise NEET UG Result 2024 on its official websites, exams.nta.ac.in/NEET/ and neet.ntaonline.in, on Saturday, July 20. These results were released in compliance with a Supreme Court order. However, later on, the result was scrapped.
Following the announcement of the NEET results last month, a controversy emerged due to allegations of a paper leak and irregularities in the exam's administration. Several petitions were subsequently filed in the Supreme Court and various High Courts after candidates were awarded grace marks to compensate for time lost at six centers where the exam started later than scheduled. The Supreme Court later revoked these grace marks and instructed the NTA to conduct an optional retest for the 1,563 affected candidates.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) had conducted the NEET re-exam on June 23 for 1,563 candidates. These candidates were initially compensated for lost time with grace marks, sparking controversy. Amid protests and allegations of a NEET 2024 scam, NTA decided to hold the re-exam on June 23. The affected candidates can either take the NEET re-exam or have their revised scorecards without the grace marks considered for the counselling process.
NTA published the NEET UG result 2024 on its website along with the topper list. The candidates who appeared for the NEET UG exam on 5th May can check the result from here and know their qualifying status. The cut-off this year for the general category candidates has increased to 720-164 this year. This year the all India rank 1 is shared by 67 students who have scored 99.997129 percentile
As per the notice released by the NTA, the candidates can challenge the official NEET answer key from 29th to 31st May 2024, up to 11:50 PM. For each challenge made by the candidate, they have to pay Rs. 200/-. The authorities will verify the objections made by the candidates and will then publish the final answer key along with the result.
This year, a total of 23,81,833 students have registered for NEET UG 2024 out of which over 10 lakh are male students, over 13 lakh are girls and 24 students have registered under the ‘third gender’ category. The NEET 2024 registration was reopened from 9 April 10 April 2024 till 10.50 PM. Candidates who could not apply earlier have a good opportunity to apply for the exam now. The candidates can pay the application fee up to 10 April, 11:50 PM. As per the notice released by the NTA, “We have received various representations from stakeholders with a request to re-open the registration window of NEET-UG 2024. Based on the representation, it has been decided to re-open the Registration window of NEET-UG 2024.”

Candidates should know that NEET full form is the National Entrance cum Eligibility Test. National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) is a national-level entrance examination that is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission into undergraduate courses of MBBS, BDS, BAMS and other medical/paramedical courses in India. There is no limit on the number of attempts to appear for NEET exam. A candidate can appear as many times if he/she fulfils the eligibility criteria.
NEET exam pattern has remained the same as that of last year. NEET exam is held in offline mode in 13 languages. There are three subjects in NEET exam, Physics, Chemistry and Biology for a total of 720 marks. There shall be a total of 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in NEET exam. Out of the three subjects, Biology has the maximum weightage. Each question is for 4 marks while a negative of 1 mark will be there for every incorrect answer. NTA shall conduct NEET 2024 exam in 13 languages in offline mode. Candidates who opt to appear for the NEET exam in English, Hindi and Urdu can appear for the exam in any exam city in India. NEET answer key is released by NTA in a few days after the completion of the exam. NTA releases NEET answer key in two stages. It firstly releases the provisional answer key and later on a final answer key. The provisional answer key allows the candidate to raise an objection against it if any. Later on, a final answer key along with the NEET result is released after NTA has scrutinized the objections raised by candidates.
NEET UG result will be declared by NTA on neet.nta.nic.in, cnr.nic.in as well as ntaresults.nic.in. Candidates will have to log in to the official website of NTA to download NEET result. The result contains the candidate’s NEET score out of 720, overall percentile, All India Rank, qualifying status and cut off score.
NTA has officially released NEET admit card on its official website. NEET admit card shall have important details present on it such as the candidate’s name, exam centre address, reporting time, etc. You must keep the NEET 2024 hall ticket until the completion of the admission process. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct the NEET 2024 counselling for the 15% All India Quota while the State authorities will conduct NEET counselling for the 85% state quota seats. Candidates will have to register themselves online to participate in NEET counselling. The NEET counselling is done in four rounds and the number can be increased or decreased as per the NEET vacancy.
Once the registration is completed, the candidates will have to fill and lock seat choices. After this process, the set allotment result will be announced. If a candidate accepts the seat then he/she will have to accept the seat and go for institute reporting or else they can wait for seat upgradation and the next round.
